How This Works
This app exists to put your imagination before your sound — so that
you're working on what you want to hear rather than how to
produce it.
Imagine — what you want
Imagine is the imaginal channel. A character, a
circumstance, an image, a way of meaning it. It's the target: the
thing you're trying to hear before you play a note.

Perceive — where you stand
Perceive is the perceptual channel. A sensation or a
sound you can actually put your attention on. Every item notices
something; none of them instruct you to do something. That's
deliberate — technical self-correction is the thing that gets you
in your own way.

Why they feel like the same thing
Because they nearly are. Both are places to put your attention —
they just sit in different rooms. The useful way to hold them:
Imagine is what you want.
Perceive is where you stand while getting it.
Imagine is the destination; Perceive is the vantage point you
watch it from. That's why Perceive never needs to describe the
sound — Imagine already did.
The two modes
Imagine + Perceive gives you both at once. The work is
reconciling them — holding an imagined intention while your
attention rests somewhere specific. Harder, and worth it.
One at a time gives you one or the other. A single
clear intention with nothing competing for it. Use it when holding
both turns into thinking about both.
Neither is the correct one. They're different practices.
Using it
Take the first reading that arrives. The prompts are provocations,
not instructions — if one seems wrong for the material, that
friction is usually the interesting part. Anything that consistently
doesn't work for you can be deleted in Edit Parameters.
